What is the standard for dormant account transactions initiated via an online banking transfer? We require in person transactions to a dormant account provide identification which is photocopied and forwarded to operations staff for review and status change on the account prior to a transaction being accepted on a dormant account, deposit or withdrawal. However, we have customers with other deposit accounts asking if they can do a transfer online between accounts to activate an account that has gone dormant. Is there any reason we would not want to allow this, since they must have their sign on information to affect the transfer?
