I know that we need to send notices to our customers notifying them of the change in the branch hours as well as update the lobby signs and brochures. My questions are as follows:

• Is there a template that we can utilize for the letters going to the customers in addition to lobby signs and brochures?

Unless you are required to notify your customers due to a State law - it is purely a marketing piece.

If we are changing branch hours Monday-Thursday AND have decided to be closed on Fridays, would this require a 30 day notice?

Who are you regulated by, as in what type of bank are you and where are you located?

There does not appear to be any State requirements. Closing a branch on Friday is highly unusual though. I would send a letter to my EIC at the FDIC and maybe even to your State EIC, just to give them a heads up. Make sure you update your CRA file also. I assume you are not a one branch bank and there are other branch options for the customers of this branch.

There was some confusion in the original email I received . . . it was meant to be Saturday, not Friday that they would like to close.

Starting in November, we will be changing our banking hours from 9-6 to 9-5. My question is, are there any specific requirements, for California banks, regarding changing access to Safe Deposit Boxes with our bank closing an hour earlier?

I cannot find any. Call the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation if you have doubts.
