We typically use one DOT referencing all properties securing a loan but our new platform creates one per property. The tax is paid based on the indebtedness so the tax should only have to be paid on the first dot recorded. A title company is saying that we cannot do this. Does anyone else use multiple dots for one loan and if so how do you handle the taxes?

I see no provisions for apportionment under the State Statute § 67-4-409. Only (b)(7)(B)(i) talks about apportionment if some of the property is not located in Tennessee.
