Well, the NFL preseason has started, so you know what that means: REAL (i.e.
college) football is not far behind!
As a matter of fact, Week 0 starts with the Navy Midshipmen taking on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (in Dublin, Ireland) at 2:30pm (ET)/1:30pm (CT) on Saturday, August 26th!!!
That’s just two (2) weeks from this past Saturday! So, everybody say it with me…
LET’S GET READY TO RRRUUUMMMMMMBBBBBBLLLLLE!!!When it comes to
Bama I can’t deny I’m a homer, but there are a lotta folks out there suggesting UGA (or, maybe, that's UUUUUGGGGGGGAAAAHHHHHH) will be the first team to three-peat in the modern era. To that, I say:
HA!!!
With such a weak schedule, they may be undefeated, but only until they have to face my
Bama Boys in the SEC Championship Game!!! Then, it’s all over, but the crying!
Well, they might get a second shot at us in the National Championship Game (in Houston at NRG Stadium on Monday, January 8th), but the VICTORY will be even sweeter the second time around!
ROLL TIDE!And, just remember: The signs don’t say…
“We want Michigan!” Or, “We want OU!” They don’t say, “We want USC!” And, they most certainly don’t say, “We want Auburn!” They say, "We want
BAMA!!!"
So, let’s get on to the main event!
Here are the four (4) teams who will make this season’s College Football Playoffs:
The
Alabama Crimson Tide, the Florida State Seminoles, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and…yes…the Georgia Bulldogs, too.
Of course, Nick Saban will prove he is the G.O.A.T. when the
Crimson Tide wins it all!
So, here’s the deal: Since your pathetic, talentless, nobody, nothing of a team cannot win, just stop your embarrassment and take up the guanlet of trying to beat me at the 2023-2024 Yahoo! College Football Pick’em Challenge.
Stop being a Fraidy Cat and Just Do It already! Sign up at
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/college and join one (or preferably both) of the challenge groups.
I’ve established two groups to give you opportunity to prove up your lack of “skills.”
PB I [Group ID #3509; password:
houston (all lower case)] is for the beginner & inexperienced. In this group, you need only pick winners “straight up” and, to add to the excitement, you will also support your convictions by assigning confidence points to each pick. Depending on how strongly you feel about your prediction, you’ll select your points…the more confident you are, the more points you should use.
PB II [Group ID #3510; password:
houston (all lower case)] is for the BraveHeart and the Fearless. In this group, you’ll not only use confidence points, but you’ll have to make your decisions based on the spread. The spread (or “the line”) is determined by Vegas and you’re not necessarily picking the game winner; rather, you’re trying to predict whether or not you believe the favored team will win by MORE than the points established by the odds-makers or if the underdog will be closer than what was forecasted. So, here, you’ll choose your confidence points based on how firmly you believe a team will (or will not) cover.
NOTE: If there is no spread or the line is “Off,” it becomes just like PB I…just pick the winner & choose how many points to assign. And, if the “favorite” team wins over the “underdog” by the precise number set by Vegas, it’s called a “push” and no one gets any points. (Sorry, that’s the “house” playing the odds.)
There's no gambling. It's all just for braggin' rights!
“C’mon, man!” This is so easy, even an Auburn fan can figure it out!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at: dallastide at g mail dot com (without any spaces or underscores)…and, invite others to join us, too! (The more the merrier!) But, remember: It's first come, first served!

And, as always,
Roll Tide!
