Does the individual name in the proof of insurance (Policy) need to match the property owner's name on the determination?

For example, Name on flood determination is Acme Co. Name on the flood policy is Jane Doe, owner of Acme Co. Is there an issue with the names not matching?

Who you have on the FHD is not that important. In fact, there is no requirement for a name of the property owner on a FHD. The important thing is that the named insured on the policy actually is the titled property owner. You cannot insure something that you do not own. Unless Jane Doe owns the property, she should not be the sole named insured.

Is it a regulatory requirement that the named insured on a flood policy match the owner name or is it a best practice? I have a flood policy on a dwelling that the named insured, also a guarantor on the loan, is the owner of the company that owns the property. The flood insurance provider says they can't input a company because their system won't allow it.

Only an owner of the property can be a named insured, unless there is a landlord relationship and the leasee can also be named as an additional insured. Is this a private policy?

I would tell them to go pound sand if they cannot write a flood insurance policy to a business entity that owns the property.

Does all building owners need to be listed as name insured? I have a flood policy, the wife is listed, but the husband is not. Is this an issue? I called the insurance company many times to have it added, but no response.

As long as at least one of the owners is named on the policy, I see no real issues.
