We have a consumer who has been making inappropriate comments to some our female staff. Is there any reason we would not be able to notify the customer via a letter that we are closing their account?

Would we need to speak to the customer first about their behavior or could we go ahead and close the account as long as we notify by mail?

Most of the disclosures state that you can close account at any time. You don't have to give a reason. Be mindful of any government direct deposits and give them enough time to get it changed if it applies. We have closed accounts for the same reasons,
