Is the TX Guaranty fee a finance charge? I have no idea what the fee is for, but we're not doing loans in TX and title is including it on our settlement statement.

No, it is not. But if you are not doing loans in Texas, why are you being charged for it.

It is charged at a rate of $2 per policy and goes into a fund that will pay claims on the title policy if that specific title insurer goes out of business or bankrupt.
