We have a customer who has paid timely and is current at this time. He recently became very ill and will no longer be able to work and make payments on the loan. He wants to voluntarily surrender the chattel collateral on the loan, which we have agreed to do. Since it's not technically a repossession at this time, are we required to advertise a public auction before we can dispose of the collateral as we would do on a repossessed piece of collateral?
