All our locations are in Texas, and I'm curious if other Texas banks are getting the same strange phone calls we've been getting. For about a month, we've been getting repeated calls from an individual asking questions about our CD rates. They call multiple branches, sometimes on the same day, and ask the same questions over and over again about our interest rates and CD products. They've given us a false name (we tracked their identity from their phone number and additional sources). They complained about our service (they are not a customer, and nowhere close to our region of the state). They have requested that we call their phone and leave a voicemail listing all our CD products and interest rates/APY. It very much feels like they have an agenda of some sort.

Is anybody else getting these calls? Or does anybody have thoughts on what possible agenda they could have?

People do unusual and/or crazy things. As presented, I would ignore the situation. I would not advise leaving any voicemails with respect to APY, but then again, that's not my side of the business.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
sounds like someone shopping for a lawsuit, hoping one of your bank's employees give a different rate or APY than advertised or that they are told by someone on a different phone call. and call their phone and leave a voice mail? yeah, they want that recording for something...

if your phone system allows, just block the phone number

On a stage near you
Just waiting for someone to slip up and miss saying APY or not giving the decimal points on a rate.
