Just curious but why is it called "Check 21" as oppossed to "Check 22"? Is it part of the reg or what?

Dave's correct. The full "real" name of the Act is Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act.

It is for the century. I think HUD is the only agency currently working on regs with "22" in them.

Like the twice dead "RESPA Reform" proposal that keeps getting shelved? I hope it IS 2200 'cause I won't be around to worry about it!!!
