For those banks who electronically complete and submit CTRs, what software is available? Does completing the CTR electronically vs manually reduce human error? Any suggestions for reducing errors? Our bank does utilized computer-generated reports that aggregate transactions by SSN/TIN and so forth....but as an auditor I see more errors when reviewing the completed CTRs and/or noting from the computer-generated reports that a CTR was not completed and subsequently not filed. Any thoughts/feedback/suggestions?

We used some software from Thomson Publishing until we got an on-line teller system, and it creates the CTR's at the teller window automatically.
The Thomson software was capable of taking a download of your daily transactions and creating CTR's. There was still the issue of getting the required information such as occupation, ID, etc. when the teller didn't ask for it.

Provided it is a one-time transaction causing the CTR the teller is prompted right at the teller window. Multiple transactions requiring CTRs are also completed online at a separate terminal. It does help with errors - the system won't allow any empty fields to be bypassed.
