Just another day on 6 West
It had been 5 months 2 weeks and 2 days since we were last in the hospital, but who was counting? We're back on 6 West.

Long story that I'll try to make short...Natalie has been sick the past few days, with what we thought was a virus. Tuesday she threw up on me and then slept all day, Wednesday it was more sleeping, and then she turned a bright shade of yellow in just a few hours.

So we went to Swedish American for labs. Once the results were in, CMH called us and told us to come to the ER.

We arrived at the ER at 7pm last night, blood tests were drawn, cultures were taken, an IV was started, chest X-rays were performed, and Natalie was given glucose. Within just a few hours, we saw improvement. She had lost 3 pounds since our last clinic visit in January and since starting the IV, she'd gained one pound back in fluid.

We got a room on the floor at 11pm. Natalie had a big girl bed. I think that some of the nurses got a little choked up to see "their girl" growing up!

Tests today
No results yet, but Natalie had an ultrasound and a CAT scan today.

There are 3 theories, in order of the best case being first and worse case being last:
1. This is another episode of the bile ducts being blocked and Natalie needing a PTC tube.
2. Her portal vein stenosis (narrowing) issues has returned or clotted.
3. Her Hepatic Artery clotted.

The ultrasound looked at the bile ducts and the CAT scan looked at the vein and artery. They wanted to look at the lymph nodes (for next week's CAT scan), but it would have meant using too much contrast and making the results hard to read.

I love and hate seeing old friends
I love our nurses. I love the staff here. But seeing them means that Natalie is here and I hate that.
IR gave Natalie a care bear that they've been saving for her since Christmas and the nurses on 6 west just gave her the Kewpie doll that they've been saving for her.

Resting comfortably
Natalie is now in her hospital room resting after her busy busy morning. I'll update when I know more.

Prayers are coming from Oklahoma for all of your family.

Hang in there! You guys have so many people praying for you it is just amazing. I don't know which of the options is best....but what ever it is, I hope it is something that can be fixed quickly and easily for all of your sake.
