We recently run a criminal report on a prospective employee. The report came back with three charges on the individual that had been dropped by the DA. One of the charges was for assault with a deadly weapon. We talked to her about the report and she devulged that she had beat up her sisters car because they were fighting over a guy. I understand that because the charges were dropped that we should not hold this information against her, but how do you block out the fact that she may be a violent person. Does anyone have any advice as to how you would handle a situation like this one. We really are not inclined to hire this person.

Is she the most fully qualified candidate that you have (except for these issues). If not, don't hired her and these issues don't matter.
