Would BSA Officer be an appropriate title for someone who has the following responsibilities?:

Large cash transaction monitoring
CTR Filing Oversight
Suspicious activity monitoring
SAR Filing Oversight
Cash Sales of Monetary Inst.($3-$5000) oversight
314a research and reporting
CIP oversight
Reporting to examiners regarding procedures and findings.

The only exclusions are final signatures on all reports filed and accountibility to examiners/CEO/Board. Is it normal to have a BSAO with only administrative responsibilities and someone in a lower position who actually "does the work"? Thanks

All of the banks I have worked for have had "someone else who does the work", because the BSA Officer had to be of significant authority, and frankly, very few people in that position want to file CTRs personally. I am the BSA Officer, among other responsibilities, at my current bank and do mostly oversight. I am also in charge of Compliance and an executive officer of the company and the holding company. Someone in our Deposit Services Dept. files the CTRs and the Security Officer files the SARs.
