That isn't a very good motto...surely you can come up with something a little better? If I used that one the next thing I know you'd be accusing me of being a troll!

Ooh...I found a good one for this thread...but it's too long to use.

Anon, it really is all about Angie. Actually, I was thinking the same thing. Ang, where'd your picture go? I thought you were Mark there for a minute. LOL. Kinda weirded me out. Happy Weekend, everyone.

JLJ - you can borrow the one I use on another board if you like: "Life's too short to ride bad horses or dance with ugly men."

I have no idea where that originally came from. My old roommate had it posted in her trailer dressing room right underneath a plaque that said, "Second place is just a nice way of saying 'First place loser.'"

I used to have one that said, "It's not what you win, it's who you beat."

Thank you ladies!!!

Becca...I'm going to have to borrow that one. It's really good. (I've also wrote the others down)

I had one on my old truck that said "Silly Cowboy, Trucks are for Girls!"

My daughter's trying to talk me into one that says "If you're not making dust, you're eating it." She's made the transition from halter horses to barrel horses pretty well.

Here's another interesting quote. Bette was talking about marrying again but I would only do it the first time under these conditions .

"I'd marry again if I found a man who had fifteen million dollars, would sign over half to me, and guarantee that he'd be dead within a year." - Bette Davis

Bette and I share a birthday, too. Go figure.

My too favorite dating quotes:

"No time for love, Dr. Jones"

[on first love] "It would be nice to think that since I was 14, times have changed. Relationships have become more sophisticated. Females, less cruel. Skins thicker. Instincts more developed. But there seems to be an element of that afternoon in everything that's happened to me since. All my romantic stories are a scrambled version of that first one." (from High Fidelity.... amen brother)

MUAHAHAHAHAHAH OMG... sorry I was just simply reading the thread and minding my own business, then I saw your post....

Only most of my life! Seriously, my professional life, I've always had the total grasp on, but my personal life, I'm a total flake, what is up with THAT HUH?

I just got out (literally like TUESDAY) of a relationship that I'd been maniuplated in and stayed in.... luckily just over a year, but emotionally, wow... that's entirely too long.....

And being 37, single.... ugh.... I hate this.

Anyway I just had to respond to your thread.

Go to the bookstore and look in the section of where your hobby interests are... The bookstores (B & N, Borders) by us all have coffee shops.

At least you'll know he can read...

Stephen, Stephen, Stephen. I may just have to give you lessons in flirtation and trapping the opposite sex.

I need some advice. My ex is telling mutal friends that we are trying to work things out. Well, on this bit of news, I tried having a conversation with him. He answers with as few words as possible, and then gets defensive and asks why I want to know. This has been going on for a few weeks. It seems the only time he wants to "talk" is when the talking leads to more. Should I bother? Does he really want to work things out?

I would say you need to decide do YOU really want to work things out. Communication is the KEY to a great relationship. We all deserve a great relationship. Don't settle for something less than wonderful!

The questions I would ask myself if I were in your situation are as follow:
1. How much time have I invested in this relationship?
2. How much energy have I invested in this relationship?
3. Honestly, is this the man I want to spend the rest of my life with?
4. Does he make me feel good, does he treat me well, is it a 50/50 relationship or am I putting everything into this?

I'm not saying the 2 children don't matter, but you had them before you met and you and your child and he and his child will survive, so don't make decisions based on the kids. Good luck!

Clarification....do you have 4 kids total in the household (2 together plus 1 each from prior relationships) or 2 kids in the household, both from prior relationships

4 kids total.. mine, his, ours...
we no longer live together, so our kids go back and forth. One is almost 3 and the other is 10 months.
