I really like Scott and his voice. Past winners have shown that it doesn't really matter what you look like as long as you have great singing. I just happen to like others more than him. He is good though, UK.

Interesting - Strange how we all have our own perception of what an "American Idol" should look like. Good point comparing him to previous standouts though. Scott's a tough one for me cause I really do ENJOY his voice. However, I've gotta say go Carrie!!

I think Bo definitely could've sung "Hair" - I'd never heard the one he did.

Bottom 3: Nikko, Scott and Vonzell....I think Scott will go - his negative publicity this past week probably will do him in.

What negative publicity???
I am glad Scott got a repreive, but for the life of me, who the heck is voting for Anthony and Anwar? I expected Scott to be in the bottom 3, but Vonzell and Nikko???

I am glad it was Nikko out of those 3, he would have gone soon anyway, but that means we have to listen to Anthiny again!

why has no one mentioned that Scott has a great voice but just doesn't have the look? Unfortunately for him you have to be "attractive" to win these competitions. Am I wrong?

Are you wrong? Sure are.

Season 3: Fantasia - definately not as attractive as the people she beat. Camille, Diana, Jasmine, Latoya, and Leah were all more attractive than she was, and they lost, she won. (And that's just the gals)

Season 2: Rueben Studdard AND Clay Aiken... Ok these guys had "the look"? No way. Josh Gracin, Carmen Rasmusen, Kimberly Caldwell, Julia Demato, and Rickey Smith were much better looking. The final two won on their vocal merits.

Season 1: Ok, so Kelly Clarkson had the looks. But so did everyone on the first season (except Justin who took 2nd).

It isn't the looks that make people who don't deserve to move on continue. Sure, it helps some, but it isn't enough. Gaining a strong backing from USING that look or whatever look you have by performing helps more. Look at what Constantine is doing this season. He sings aiight, but he follows the camera and smiles and flirts with everyone watching. He entertains.

If Scott drops early, it is because he doesn't perform well. He sings well, but he doesn't smile, he doesn't dance, he doesn't open his eyes and make eye contact with the camera....

I think Anwar is continuing on because in the prelims, he was smokin hot and sang great. But he had his following. I think Anthony is moving on because he is getting the eastern european immigrant vote and the wow you can do that when you weren't supposed to be able to talk vote, as well as the we pity you because Simon hates you vote.

I've seen this mentioned twice now and I think both posters were men. Women kept voting for Justin to get him to the number 2 spot- he was cute!

I just cannot believe Anthony is still in this competition. The way things are going, no telling who is going to win this season.

It was nice to see and hear Fantasia again last night. She sang her heart out, as she always did.

I was shocked that Vonzell made it to the bottom three... I think Anthony should have been down there, and I think he should have went home. As for the ones that were in the bottom three, I'm glad that it was Nikko.

I agree that Anthony should go home. I thinks the "pop" version of Climb Every Mountain was terrible. I liked Nikko better than Anthony and Scott.

Well...Guess I'll weigh in on this one. I definitely thought Scott should have been the one to go. The others in my bottom three would have been Anwar and either Anthony or Nikko. Scott just has not impressed me. He chose a song that can really showcase a strong voice and it just did not hold a candle to others (including my cuz--the goofy singing Mayberry gas station attendent come marine) who I have heard perform it. Anwar has just been very ordinary the last 2-3 weeks. In my opinion, once you get beyond the hats/costumes, Nikko, too, was very ordinary. Anthony is definitely not one of my favorites and surely won't last much longer; however, I did like what he did with his song this week.

Hey, I'll be the first to admit it, I'm no expert in which guys are cute. Personally, I thought Justin looked kinda goofy with that blond afro thing he had going.

I couldn't believe Vonzell was in the bottom 3 either. That chick is workin it! First she does Whitney Houston proud last week and then does Barbara Streisand proud this week? Come on America, vote for the cute girl with the pipes!

By the way, I think it is amazing that every week they break records for numbers of votes.....

I am an an American idol fan. The perfomances were allright. The bottom three should have been Anthony, Nikko, and Scott. Vonzell has shown tremendous growth. It was a tough call for me. Anthony and Nikko both have that high pitch annoying voice that really doesn't move me when I hear them. I like Scott a whole lot because he is the underdog, he needs to work on his stage presence and put a smile on his face. He's a hefty guy but so was Reuben but Reuben was such a likeable person because of his smile. The flawless perfomances every week are Carrie & Constantine. Nadia has an okay voice but so did Mary J. Blige and look what training did to her. I think Nadia will make it to the top seven and will be gone. Here is my top five, Carrie, Constantine, Bo, Vonzell, and Anwar, bust Anwar has to bring it every week to stay in the competition because he does go a little sharp when singing. I liked Nikko but he was not a strong contender for the "American Idol"

Fantasia didn't sing, she screamed. I didn't think she should have won last year.

Totally agree. I was cringing throughout her whole performance!

I just like Fantasia because she was not what you would expect an idol to be. She is true to her style, the girl takes everything to church. The public likes her the girl is everywhere, on awards shows, and she won the NAACP Image Award for best new female performer. If you saw her on BET celebration of Gospel you will see that is her true calling. I love her!!!!!! Get her album it really tells a story. My next idol hopeful who is an underdog is Scott. I think Scott needs to take all his song to church. Do a little Fred Hammond and the audience will be swaying. I vote for Scott because I think this will do a lot for his self-esteem.

IMO...Scott looks like a plump little tick up on stage... Ruebon's personality made up for any looks/physical traits he was lacking.

Just read a TV Guide on line article which describes Scott as "creepy" (ouch!). I hadn't realized that the scandal reported was that he had been charged with domestic abuse (of mother of his son) several years ago. They said the difference between him and previous contestants who were kicked out over legal/moral scandals (remember Frenchie?) is that he was up front about the charges to producers. Can't wait to see what tonight's show brings!

Ok - let me just say that Paula is ruining this show for me - she almost fell off her chair tonight. I disagree with the judges almost every time now. Here's my rundown while it's fresh:

Nadia - I thought she was outstanding and I liked the song - I don't why they don't like her

Bo - not impressed; version was boring - ruined the song

Vonzell - liked the song - she was very good

Anthony - ok - better, but not a wow

Scott - iffy - did not like the song - he is picking some bad songs - I am starting to not like him as much

Anwar - hated it - really unimpressive to me

Carrie - I thought she was really very good - not sure they were fair to her; kind of like Olivia Newton John at the end of Grease!

Constantine - still hate his holy cheesiness, but I will admit he was excellent and sang a great song very very well.

I actually watched tonight for the first time in like 3 seasons. I concur, what the heck is up with Paula? She behaved very unprofessionally tonight.

Nadia - I thought she was weak and what is up with her mouth? That was distracting to watch. She does seem very confident up on stage.

Bo - not impressed; version was boring - ruined the song - Concur. Not enough energy for that song, Simon was dead on with that one.

Vonzell - She was VERY good, thought she rocked it. Probably one of the top performances of the night.

Anthony - ok - not bad, did a decent job with the song.

Scott - Thought he was really shaky in the verses (low parts) and although he did a good job with the chorus, didn't think that was enough to carry the performance.

Anwar - Enh. Too lounge lizardy for my taste.

Carrie - I thought she ROCKED that song. OK, she didn't get all the words quite right but that's a tough one to do and she did a very good job with it.

Constantine - I didn't get to hear all of this one so I don't have any real comments except this guy is creepy to look at.

EGB - Glad I am not nuts - aside from Nadia, we seem to agree 100%. And by the way, Paula has been like this for the entire Final 12.

I watched most of it last night.

Nadia - She did a good job, but wasn't she the one that sang the Crystal Gayle song that no one knew?

Bo - He was adequate, but why take a song that there is a definitive version of. It would have been better if he could have taken a song that was a little less well known and put his own spin on it. Or he could have taken a great song by someone who is a good singer, but not a great singer. When you are being compared to VanZandt, you're gonna lose.

Vonzell - What did she sing? I don't watch often enough to remember their names.

Anthony - He sang "Every time You Go Away" I think. He did well, but Paul Young's version is so great that I could not help comparing.

Scott - Didn't he sing "She's Gone." This is a great song. He did an adequate job. Just glad he did not sing "Sara Smile" because Hall and Oates have done the definitive version already.

Anwar - He was alright as I recall. What was the song he sang?

Carrie - She did a Pat Benetar song. She was ok.

Constantine - He does have a cockiness about him, but he nailed it. I am surprised that I liked it because he was singing a song that was originally done by a great singer and it is the definitive version of that song. I have to give him credit for even trying it. I am surprised that I'd like any of them singing that song.
