A co-worker just asked me if I thought Hillary would win if she ran for president. What do the rest of you think??

There's no way she would win. As bad as this sounds, I think numerous women will have to run for president before one actually wins. I think the Democrats will only put her up when there is a strong Republican candidate, so they can blame the loss on that. Kerry lost because he was viewed as being too liberal and conservatives came out to make sure he wasn't elected. Do you think a woman (with strong public opinions both for and against) would stand a chance?

I think the same principle applies to her. They'll only run her when the Democratic candidate is strong. Even in my wildest dreams (which will happen since I voted for Pedro), I can't see those two running against each other...

Well, since I never vote along party lines, I'm unlikely to vote along gender lines. I prefer to vote for whomever I believe is the best candidate. Between Clinton and Rice, I'd go for Nixon too.

Are we talking Trot Nixon or Otis Nixon.
Trot is an o.k. outfielder. He hasn’t had a stellar career but he’s a good player.
Otis was more of your speed guy. However, I just saw him on ESPN Classic getting thrown out attempting to steal during a World Series game (v.s. the Yankees I believe).
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think either of these guys are worthy of being elected President.

I think it's way too early to say. 3 1/2 years is an eternity in politics. We don't know how the economy will be at that time, how the situation In Iraq will be, how the 2006 elections will turn out or how any of a large number of other factors might have an impact, including who the Republicans might choose.

I think a woman could be elected in 2008. I don't think Hillary could be elected in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036, 2040, 2044, 2048.... I just don't think she can convince those politically in the center to vote for her.
I wonder how the trial of David Rosen will effect her? http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/23992.htm
