97 degrees outside, feels like 100. Cancel youth baseball tonight ages 5 - 8 or not?

I wouldn't want to be playing in heat like that. I would cancel.

That's not bad. Temp should start to drop, so as long as you have lots of water, and make them drink, they won't care about the heat.

I think it should be ok. They are probably out playing at home no matter how hot it is. When I was that age, even in high school, I would play my best ball games when it was hot. (don't know why, just did)

Just keep the water coming and make them rest between innings and set on the bench in the dug out instead of goofing around if it is still hot, but it should start to cool down.

Just make sure they do wind sprints for an hour before the game and they should be fine...

Is there an air quality warning of any kind listed? If yes, cancel if red/orange or whatever your area uses to indicate problems.

Cancel baseball because of heat? Baseball is 95% standing around or sitting. If we in the Southwest canceled baseball games everytime it was 97 degrees and 35% humidity, we'd have no baseball. I say: PLAY BALL!!

I'm from Louisiana. What's 35% humidity? In most places, 100% humidity means its raining. Not in a swamp.

Oh yes, how can I forget baseball at the YMCA in July! Good times. Love that Oklahoma heat.
