I wish we could all meet someplace in person and share the same fun we have here. What a thought - a room full of compliance officers in a social setting - makes me chuckle to think of it.

Attend the ABA Compliance Conference. We BOL'ers had a great time. Al is there for any wine related questions, we talk about dumb regs, make notes of things we need to check when we get back and MBG is snapping pictures like crazy. (And then printing them on the spot with this really kewl... but I digress to being a gadget guy again. )

I wish I had an Andy at my bank who could make the auditor's job much easier. I wish the staff would quit calling me the dragon lady...auditor's have feelings too you know! Finally, I wish for all of you a great weekend.

I thought it was just me that did that!!!

I also can't spell complaint properly, I keep typing compliant.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone going to the Kirchman Advanced loan and deposit compliance seminar in Nashville the first week of November? I'm excited because I finally get to go to some training. My previous employer thought I could learn everything by reading about it.

I wish to thank Mary Beth for giving the directions to the launch pad, but the bank's management has other thoughts about you right now.
By the way, the little folded dollar Mary Beth gave me in the DC hallway two years ago has provided many hours of fun since. I give my tellers class on compliance ten minutes to repeat the little shirt, the winner is sworn to silence (Privacy) . There's always at least one that can figure it out.

The Fairy Godmother gave me directions, follow the yellow brick road to the BOL Launch Pad. From there scroll to Privacy Act, and then scroll to the Privacy Exam. Really simple when you know where to look! Right under the Munchkin.

My current employer feels the same as your ex, but when my President gets back next week, I am going to try to get him to turn loose of some money to let me attend at least the lending portion.

I wish there were more people like the branch manager who stopped in my office and said (after attending a seminar this week), "I have a new appreciation for what you do."

I guess I've been called worse than Compliance Nazi - but my favorite was a ditzy acquaintance's introduction of me as the "Accomodation Officer."

Laughed my head off at that one......moron......really funny!!!

Our President attended the ABA conference in AZ last week. Then he called me with a genuine appreciation of CIP!! It was one of those moments where I just sat at my desk and smiled. Thank you ABA.

I wish that when you are "elected" to an extra duty that the extra persons pay would arrive with it.

Is that the same Barracuda B*tch that was in Dallas and used to be an examiner? If so, I've heard other names for her too!! But, that was long before my time and those people aren't here anymore either.

Back when I was a QC manager, they called me the Drill Sargent. Luckily, I've learned to relax a little.

But I find that being in compliance is a lot like being in QC. No one wants to hear from you and when they do they take everything personally. ARGH!!!

My day has not improved.

Luckily, I have a 5:30 appt w/ Mr. Coors or maybe it's Mr. Sam Adams or maybe Mr. Michelob...

I think we were going to try in the next couple of weeks in Norman but it didn't look like many of us would be there at the same time and there wasn't a whole lot of us. Most are "edumacated" already, I guess.

Otherwise, I'd hope for June in DC. Found out I'll be asked back to speak, so I'll be there.

The aforementioned brother also dubbed me 'The Loan Ranger'. My appointment tonight is to watch my son perform in the high school play. Here in New Albany, IN that's a big deal!
