Question...if my bank is thinking of contracting with a 3rd Party Courier Service to pick up commercial deposits and bring them back to our branches to process. Don't we need an agreement signed between us and the customer authorizing this 3rd Party to pick up the deposits...even though they are working on behalf of the bank? I think I have heard this agreement called Third Party Deposit Delivery Form? Can someone shed a little light on this? Does anyone have an example of such an animal?

You might want to review your branching requirements - don't know if you have a National or State charter. By establishing and paying for the courier, you may be establishing a mobile branch.

When you say a 3rd Party Courier - are you talking about a local package delivery service or a Loomis/Brinks/armored courier type of deal?

We acquired, thru a merger, a bank with 5 branch offices in Michigan that has been offering a courier service for years. Their courier services include the pick up of both cash and checks. Cash pickups that aggregate over $10,000 are monitored for CTR filing. We are a thrift, regulated by the OTS. Are we in violatin of the mobile branch regulations you mention above? Where can I find these regulations? Won't senior management love hearing this from me. No wonder I am so popular!
