I'm sure many bankers are, or will soon be reviewing DR plans as well as flood procedures.

I was reading an article today where a LA evacuee was critical of FEMA. He has lost his home and furnishings and wants to know why FEMA hasn't helped him yet. I got the impression he thought he should be made whole by the government. I wonder about his insurance. And if he didn't have flood, he'd likely ask his mortgage company/lender why. And if he didn't have a good answer, he may want them to make him whole.

I live in zone C, and got two-and-a-half feet of water in my home. Thankfully, I do have flood insurance. That's why they call it insurance. But since I'm not required to have insurance, and neither do my neighbors (some of whom I'm sure don't have flood insurance)should I have expected FEMA to make me whole?

I heard on the news that FEMA doesn't give handouts, just cheap loans. I graduated from Southeastern, you?

I just got back from a security mission in N.O. - the patrols said that FEMA didn't have their act together. They have several stations set up, but aren't doing enough, and have too many inexperienced people there.
