My boss was just appointed CRA Officer, meaning I now need to become intimately involved in CRA. He has a print of the OCC exam procedures but we're an FDIC Bank and would like the FDIC procedures. I looked in depth at the FDIC website, under exam section and see a bunch of CRA related information, but not the actual exam procedures. Can anyone help? A link maybe? Did I overlook something. Thanks!

How weird is this, I just downloaded them today. Actually they are the FFIEC large bank procedures. They have the procedures for each size bank on the FFIEC Web site.

Thanks KC! So the FFIEC procedures are the same for all regulators?

Pizza Queen, Each agency has there own way of doing exams I would recommend reading the past performance exams of your bank and other banks in your area that are reviewed by the FDIC. This is a great way to see what the examiners are looking at.

I agree. The procedures are the same but the reports can really be different. Get copies of exams your examiners have done and get a feel for how they address the procedures.

I jsut attended the CRA Conference in Las Vegas and the FDIC Examiners at the conference stated that you should review as many of the exam reports for your peers (within the same FDIC region) and make sure you are aware of the activity of your peers because you will be judge against them.

You may have already been there, but here is the link to the page you can search for performance evaluations - they are very helpful to read. I did a comparative analysis of several banks by putting all the loan and investment data I pulled from the evaluations into a spread sheet to see what other banks were doing with a similar asset size.

Make sure you read the Q&A's (Including the new Q&A's just approved see FIL-23-2006 - March 10, 2006) which will really help with your understanding of CRA.
