We have seen several instances where an individual has applied for a loan and either another individual (spouse) has joined with the 1st to apply for the credit at a later time or underwriters requested another co-applicant. No counteroffer was made to 1st applicant, no new application was made for both. Both were denied. My question is: In these cases, do we report GMI for the original applicant, both applicants, or report GMI based on whose income was used to make the credit decision?
