The new Q & A's state that Category B declarations do not count at all. Am I reading this right? We have counties in our AA that are declared by FEMA as major disaster areas due to wildfires but they are shown on the map as Category B. Can we not receive any CRA consideration for efforts to assist in these areas?

You are reading it right. There are several categories that you will not receive CRA credit for. I will have to pull my notes from the last conference and will post more info.

Is there a place on the FEMA site where it explains the categories? I haven't seen any categories on the Fed register info on our local areas - Is it only category B that is so labelled, and the others are valid for our purposes?

The categories are:

• Category A: Debris removal
• Category B: Emergency protective measures
• Category C: Road systems and bridges
• Category D: Water control facilities
• Category E: Public buildings and contents
• Category F: Public utilities
• Category G: Parks, recreational, and other

All of the Category E's are excluded
