Well, that was definitely a "the lesser of two evils" situation. Neither one deserved it, but someone had to win.

I agree, he was a real competitor and truly outplayed and out survived everyone else there. Once again this isn't a real competition, it's a mind game.

What with that outfit Shane was wearing on the reunion show? Those sleeves looked like they came from a clown shop!

And what was with Courtney's hair? She looked like a rooster! Guess it's the "fire dancer" look....

I was hoping for more fireworks from the jury-very boring. Wasn't it obvious that Aras purposely jumped off the balance challenge-Probst kept making it sound like she outlasted him........

I missed the first hour!! Errrrrgh! But I caught the reunion show....I agree with Bengals Fan...it was boring. I did find myself liking Shane a little more, though. Oddly enough. He was very complimentary of Cirie. He was cracking me up a little.

Yuck! It just goes to show that it isn't who is really the best "survivor"--I've only watched one series when the right person actually won! Usually all you have to do is fly under the radar so no one thinks you're a threat--. Terry had it on all fronts and I've forgiven Shane for being an idiot because he called it like it was--Danielle did nothing to justify winning and Aras was a mess who didn't deserve to win. Clearly Terry won on all fronts! If Aras had talked to me like he did Danielle to get her to choose him, I would have clubbed him with a coconut! This was clearly the "Sole Whiner". I'm glad Cirie won the car---. She was really good in the "outwitting" part. But Terry also played an awesome game.

There should be a Survivor series set in the inner city. Instead of fire, the first thing they'll need is a firearm.

I agree with Bank Naq. Don't tell me what to do, if I had been "D" I would have taken Terry and explained to everyone that the only reason was due to Aras' threat, otherwise, I'd stayed with the tribe.

The only Survivor I didn't watch was the first.....but this was the most boring Survivor yet. I couldn't even watch the Reunion. And I agree --- Terry should have won --- and won it all!

Respectfully, I disagree.

The ICs are one aspect of the game. As long as they were purely physical, Terry ruled (except for the very last challenge, the balancing, which really favored skinny people and yoga masters).

But equally important, and in the long run in my opinion, MORE important, is the strategizing and the social aspect.

Terry was wholly incapable of engineering any sort of counter-Casaya swing when he and La Mina showed up because he couldn't come up with any incentives to sway the Casayan bottom-feeders. He needed to offer them something better than "bail out of your F6 and join...OUR F6" and abysmally failed to do so.

He never leveraged the hidden immunity idol in any way that would have given the other La Minans a chance at survival.

And he failed in the "hearts and minds" campaign. Right at the end, he's openly antagonizing Aras and Cirie, either or both of whom could have ended up on the jury.

Often, the jury members don't vote for the person who was the most awesome challenge monster who "earned" the victory through physical prowess or who caught the most fish. (I mean, I still can't figure out who Jenna M. won over Matthew in the Amazon version.) They vote for someone whose victory they can personally stomach. Terry was a condescending blowhard and a social maladept. I would never have voted for him simply because he hacks me off. In the end, you need friends on the jury, and I'm not sure he could've mustered four votes.

As far as I'm concerned, Cirie is the one who had the best game, given how she was targeted for early elimination and how she had little hope of beating anyone in the challenges, about 80% of which were physical.

Apparently you didn't watch the show too closely. Jeff took a "straw poll" vote and Terry got 5 votes.

Terry had the votes of Aras, Shane, Courtney, Austin, and Sally.

Despite their conflicts, Aras had a lot of respect for how Terry played the game and how much of a competitor he was.

Sally was 100% behind her former tribemate, as was Austin.

Shane and Courtney were both screwed by two tribemates who both claimed they played the game with integrity but both were voted out after being lied to about who to vote for and who was being kicked out.

I think we tend to focus on the outplay, and don't give a lot of credence to outwit. Terry was amazing in that he had a huge bullseye on his back, and ran off a nice string of victories. He couldn't win when it counted the most. Cirie was amazing considering the strong personalities on her team-she was able to string them along and play all sides. I dont think it is right to slam Terry for being socially inept-the numbers were against him from day one of the merge. He was not bargainign from a position of power-but he gave it a shot.

Heh. I reckon I probably should've watched that part. I haven't caught up to the last hour on Tivo yet.

Agreed. She totally (based on the editing, anyway) met the requirements of the game. She maneuvered the ousting of many of the players and despite not being physically able to compete, she did outlast, outwit and outplay many others.

That last challenge was really stacked against the guys. The center of gravity for a woman is the hips and men I think it's the chest/shoulder area. The minute I saw that I said that only a woman would probably win. I'm surprised that they waited until there was only one woman left to use that kind of challenge. I'm disappointed that Terry didn't win. I thought he really did a good job, but yes, he may have blown the use of the immunity.

RN - Jenna won over Matthew because, quite simply, most of the jury thought Matthew was insane.

Yeah...you know, I never understood that. He didn't strike me as insane, even though the editing tried to play that up. He might have been a lot out of touch socially, but he didn't seem crazy. Maybe the jurors were blinded by the bikini-ish goodness of Jenna M.
