I am looking for some guidance on Consumer Processing Fees.

We have multiple branches throughout the Midwest. Some are in Metro areas and some are in Rural areas.

My question is, are you able to charge different Processing Fees on Consumer Loans depending on which market you are in?

Yes. However I would advise that you have a "market/cost" study to document the fee/cost structures for the specific area. IOWs are you pricing your fees to meet market competition, or are your costs to process a loan in a rural area less than processing one in a metro area?

Thanks for your response Dan. I am not quite sure what IOWs are?

I think that is a great point regarding the "market/cost" study. That was actually the way I was leaning.

To answer your question, I feel that it is both...market competition AND the Bank's costs to process a loan in the different areas.
