Back in June, there was an article concerning Community Development and tracts that qualify. It was written by Geo Data Vision and it mentioned the 7 types of tracts but no info as to how you find out what these tracts are in your particular area. How can we locate these tracts?

Thanks!

There are several ways you can do this. Probably the cheapest for non-GeoDataVision clients is to go to the HUD website (Office of Community Development and Planning) and get the list of Enterprise Communities, Empowerment Zones and Renewal Communities. Then go to the FEMA site to see if any of your community is listed as a disaster area. Then get the list of Distressed and Underserved Areas from the FFIEC site. Finally, go to your state's Department of Economic Development website and look for the state-designated Enterprise Zones. As an alternative, GeoDataVision has compiled databases on 5 of the above categories and distributes those databases for a very modest fee state by state.
