If I am changing a minor savings account (mostly joint with parent) to a different type of savings account (due to the minor's age) with a few different activity charges based on minimum balance and number of transactions, would I still have to give a 30 day advance notice IF I send them a letter requesting them to come into the bank and sign a new signature card? I would give them the new savings account disclosure when they come into the bank and sign the new signature card. I know the advance notice would be required if I proceeded to change types without them coming into the bank.

Helen - if they come in to change the account type as a result of you notifying them, and sign a new signature card and receive a new disclosure, the 30-days does not apply. It would only apply if you changed the account on them without action on their part.
