I am thinking about attending this CRA & Fair Lending conference hosted by PCi. Has anyone attended this in the past and is it worth the cost ($899 plus travel and hotel)?

Yes and Yes. I have attended for the last 7 years and it gets better every year. It is especially worth because they are going back to Newport this year (that's where the first one I attended was)

Thanks for the input, KCGeoQueen! I love Newport anyway! However, my main reason for going is I am looking for some new ideas for this area, and the speakers sound very good. I appreciate hearing from someone who's been there.

Becca, she usually posts in the lending forum, has been the last couple of years too. I am not sure if she is going this year.

If you are new to CRA, you may want to attend the pre-conference classes. Those are always very helpful. You will find that the conference focuses primarily on Fair Lending. There are many good speakers, however, you may find it cost-effective to have 2 folks go as some of the breakout sessions occur simultaneously and you may want to go to both. I got some great contacts from folks who run CDC or CDF's that we could partner with s well. Have fun!

No such luck. When I worked in mortgage I didn't have to be here until 8:30.

Regarding a break from the lenders - I keep trying to get the boss lady to go with me on the premise of a "working vacation," but she doesn't believe in flying metal tubes.
