I've been focused on some other issues for a very long time now and am just getting back to our CRA program. We are now considered an intermediate small bank. I would like to hear from other banks in Southern California that have been examined by the FRB suing the new exam procedures. I'm really interested to know about investments. We've reviewed about 110 PE's and observed 2 banks that received a Needs to Improve rating. Check out the Silvergate Bank rating posted by the FDIC. Ironically, their PE rating was driven by lending issues. The head of the FFIEC CRA Committee has posted an article in which she makes the interesting comment that the Assessment Area Concentration Ratio is more important for ISB's than for Large or Small Banks.
