Would you get any type of credit from providing a career day at a private school?

I would not think so, unless more than 50% of the students are on full scholarship or the reduced lunch program (tongue in cheek). Seriously, private schools are most likely not serving primarily LMI communities, so my vote is no, don't even try for CRA credit of any kind.

Talk to the school they will have the economic statistics on the students. Pale Rider is correct unless you can show that atleast 51% of the student body is low ro mod income you will not get credit.

I want to refresh this thread. Suppose the school is primarily LMI. Would we receive credit for an employee discussing the following:

Discussing what interested them in banking
What it took to get to their position(schooling/experience)
A typical day
Salary opportunities
Questions from students

We successfully included several career day type presentations at LMI schools during our last exam. We made some posters that discussed how a bank works and then went into positions within the bank. Shockingly compliance was excluded from this overview. wink At the end we handed out piggy banks to all the kids and they asked a lot of questions. One of the presentations was at a school that was over 90% LMI. The examiners didn't question the service at all. OCC regulated ISB.

Agreed, these presentations on behalf of the bank, by bank employees using their banking expertise, are CRA eligible.
