We are converting our core operating software. We currently tie our HELOCs to a checking account. The new core operating software does not allow us to do this. The checks/advances/debit card transactions will post directly to the loan.
Does anyone know if we are required to tie a HELOC with check writing and debit card access to a checking account? No one can remember why we set it up this way on the old operating system.

Ours are tied to DDA only because our loan system doesn't allow for check posting. Ours are set up as pseudo transaction accounts on our DDA core system. Checks written (no debit cards) reject on DDA and are delivered to Loans who then post them on the loan system. Be thankful you no longer have this intermediary step with your new system.

Ours used to be tied to a DDA but we changed our program and they are not anymore. We allow access by check and they post directly to the loan. No debit cards access though.
