OK, so one of my new year's resolutions for 2006 was to date more and not commit to anyone...just go out and see whats around and what i liek and what not...2006 is almost over and i have a clearer picture of the guy i want to find, so, shoudl i make 2007 the year to find him? or, would that be too much pressure???

Nope nope nope. Never set an agenda for yourself to find the "one". My advice is to keep dating, and if you are truly ready to find the "one", you will know it soon enough while you continue dating.

I just believe that even if you really know what kind of guy you want to find, you are setting yourself up for disaster, because what happens if you seek him out, find him, start dating him, and "you" are not part of the clearer picture he was looking for?

I probably wouldn't want that type of stress and as a result you might settle for someone instead of finding the right one.

ok, i didn't mean go out and find THE ONE...i just meant putting more effort into it. this year i didnt put much effort into things. now that i knwo more about who i want, i need to put more effort into finding that type of person. i'm thinking i shoudl start going to church more or something. not that i want a bible thumper, btu i want someone who is a casual christian. maybe by hitting church up every now and then or finding a young adult christian group, i will be more liekly to run into the kind of guy i want to date. make sense?

Ok, dip, what is a casual christian? I can tell you from experience, when you get your life in order,ie,know who you are,am happy with who you are,know where you are going in life, it will happen, because if you don't know who you are and are not happy with who you are, no one else will be either...

casual christian....someone who claims to be christian, knows God, aims to be a generally good person, goes to church on occassion, btu does not go all the time or attend bible studies or evangelise/push religion on others...when i went to church back in high school, we were told that it isn't good enough to be a casual christian, but i think it is good enough to be a casual christian. all you need is to accept the lord, ask for forgiveness, live decently...

this is something i feel i need in a guy because when it comes time to have kids, i want to raise them christian, read them the bible stories, have them confirmed, and after that, they can lead their own faith.
