I'm hoping they are just enjoying Christmas with Jesse and all is well. (but I have to admit not hearing from her for so long worries me)

I haven't been here much lately but when I do look, I always check into if Dawnie has responded. As the rest of you I'm concerned that we haven't heard anything. I'm hoping all is well.

Finally we are back!

I missed ya'll! We left in November to visit Grandma (my mommy) and when we came back things kind of went down hill a bit. We spent a couple of days in the hospital for dehydration and when we came back, we had no internet. Our provider has been working on it, but out whole complex has been out of service for weeks and weeks.

It turns out that a moose ate our cable lines (ok they nibbled on the pole that the cable lines come out of) and destroyed them entirely. The pole is frozen in the lake so it's been a bit of a job to restore service and fix all of the lines. They actually wanted to wait until spring, but we got ugly, and tah dah...we're on line :p

Anyhoo, I have to report, that aside from the one bump (it turns out that Jesse can not handle milk proteins so the icecream caused him to get sick again which put us in the hospital) umm where was I...oh aside from that, things are good.

I'm still holding off on the feeding tube, and so far, he's gained his required half ounce a day. He's over 18lbs now!!! It's still a full time job to get food into him (thank God for MacDonalds fries) but with the help of Mickey D, non-dairy coffee creamer and cookies, we're keeping the calories up and he's growing well.

We had a lovely holiday, staying at home (I'm tired of flying) and enjoying our little man. He's a new baby (he'd probably want me to say a new little boy) since we got the weight gain rollling.

I still have a couple more years to work with him I guess, and really, it's an amazing amount of work to get him to eat, but he's worth it, so I'll do it.

I'm running to catch up on everyone else now that I'm "online" again. I'm sorry for the delay in posting. All these nice thoughts were so wonderful to see today though What a way to start my day!

Dawnie - thanks so much for posting your wonderful update. I'm really glad that Eljay is gaining weight. Keep us posted as often as you can. We love hearing from you.

Phew...I was starting to worry. I am glad to hear that things are improving. And so pleased that you are staying on top of it without the tube.

WHA HOO!!! Oh, Dawnie, what wonderful news! My second grangirl and now her almost-1-month-old sister both had/have the milk protein thing going on. Gracie outgrew it by 3 and now lives up to living in the dairy state. To her, cheese is it's own food group! If Jesse thinks french fries are a food group than have at it. 18 lbs is amazing!

btw, 'round here we put fake owls on poles to keep woodpeckers away from wood. Anything you can put up to keep the moose away from your cable???

So glad to hear from you and that things are going well. How did Eljay like Christmas Cookies? We sure would like to see a picture of him if you can get one up for us.

You know, it's funny...I almost had my mom post for me (which would have been fun to explain to her since she's not the best on the computer) but I kept thinking...well it's only going to be a few days more without posting...no one will notice we're gone yet. Nice to be wrong

I was also missing the net like crazy because we've decided to remodel our house from top to bottom and I really need to research and umm SHOP!!!! I've been trying to do everything on this terrible old lap top I have, which works some what, but it's sooooo slow and cumbersome to use any decent program (like excel) that I gave up and have been spending all day in the car going from store to store to store! Today, I plan to let my fingers do the driving :p

Oh Dawnie, like you really needed the extra stress of a power outage... You are an amazing gal. Hang in there and give Jesse a hug for me.

We're off to the doctors office (we're actually avoiding the housekeepers) looking for a 7 1/2 oz gain today (we missed a week at the scales). Wish us luck!!!
