The only forms we accept are U.S. Government issued ID's (passports, drivers licenses, personal ID and military ID) as well as Foreign ID's as long as they appear government issued. All of our banking centers have the updated Photo ID book that give pictures of what state, US and local foreign ID's (Mexico, Canada, Cuba, etc.) look like in case they have any questions. Basically if it isn't government issued, then we won't take it.

Oh yeah...sorry, but for 2nd form we will take certified birth certificates, original birth certificates and social security cards.

We don't require a 2nd form of ID by policy. Since we use a third party vendor (Chexsystems) to verify information, we are satisfied with the risk. This is a business as well as personal security decision. How many people walk around with their birth certificates or social security cards or voter registration cards these days? :Not trying to be difficult, just my two cents:

Well if you going to go and open a bank account you better have that tpye of ID with you. Most people don't walk around with that on them, but if you're going to go open an account you better make sure that you have that with you or you will not get an account opened in South Florida

You can tell barney5 that you obviously practice what they (NCUA) publish, and then some.

We accept Social Security card, insurance card, voter registration card and then we have to have something with the address such as a phone or electric bill.

Starter,
Nay. There is no reason to have reduced identification requirements for seniors or children in general. Most seniors and many children have primary identification; i.e. identification that carries a photograph, is issued by the government, and is relatively hard to get.

Your CIP can establish reduced identification requirements for people who do not have primary identification "due to age." In that circumstance, you could indicate you will accept two pieces of secondary identification. It is not necessary to start reclassifying what is and is not primary identification.

Markp
Common forms of secondary identification:
• visa or
• firearm license or
• insurance card or
• credit card* or
• Social Security card or
• utility bill or
• property tax bill or
• voter registration card or
• organizational membership card or
• student identification card.

*Some states limit the use of credit cards as identification.
