I have seen some limited discussion in these threads that a gross annual revenue figure could be negative. Can someone explain to me how this figure could be negative? My mind is not grasping that.

That's what I thought as well. However, if you do a search in this forum on the words "revenue" and "negative" you will get a few threads where some posters have stated that it is possible.

That is because some people still confuse revenues with income. Income can be negative, revenues cannot. Gross Revenues are the sales of a company before being adjusted for cost of goods sold. The only way they could be negative would be if you gave your product away.

Thanks to both for the thoughts. What I was reading was making me question my own thought process (not always a bad thing).

Well, techically you would also have to be handing out $10 with each product - otherwise your revenues would be $0
