Is anyone going to the ACAMS conference in Vegas next week?

If any of you have gone to prior years' conferences, are they good?

Too far for me.

ACAMS is an international group, so if that is your world, you may benefit from it.

Their focus is very much on money laundering at an international level.

Next week will be my first time attending.

I was excited until all the OJ foolishness...LOL!!

MC - We have almost no international activity at our bank, however, my job description requires that I obtain the certification. Hopefully, it will be interesting anyway.

BSARisk - Maybe I'll see you there. We need little BOL identifies so we recognize people!

BSAdiva.. I am sure you will still get a lot out of it, and it is great to meet others in the field and talk about your experiences.

I suggested that BOL come up with name tags for us, so we can meet each other when we go to these events.

I will be at the ABA conference in DC, as will other BOL'ers but I don't know how I will spot them!

This will actually be the first ACAMS conference I have missed. It is an interesting group and you can get some good contacts for CDD purposes.

Personally, I have found that understanding AML from a broader, more global perspective is beneficial in understanding the policies surrounding our BSA/AML rules in the U.S. It also helps to recognize and understand changes that are likely coming down the road.
