My bank will be integrating a couple of small acquisitions in Wisconsin in 2008 that will give us our first branch presence in the state. I need to get up to speed on Wisconsin banking laws. Aside from reading the Wisconsin statutes and administrative code, are there specific seminars provided by the WBA or Community Bankers of WI that would provide me with a good primer on Wisconsin banking regulations? What about the WBA's Compliance Forum? Is this a good series of seminars to attend?

I haven't been to the Compliance Forum, but I have been to the WBA compliance schools, which cover state and federal compliance, and those are really helpful.

You will also need to understand some of the unique laws governing security interests. These are not compliance related but state law related.
