They performed emergency surgery on his main leg aorta last night. SOme of the circulation in his leg is starting to improve, slowly. Now he is in ICU with his blood pressure being monitored because it keeps dropping.

I would like to say thanks to everyone for helping me through this.

DQ, It's all right to cry. In fact, a lot of times it helps. If you're trying to be strong for everyone else, you just have to pick your times.

Hang in there.

Just be there with him.

Tell him you love him, and reassure him that you are watching out for him. Things are being taken care of and not to worry.

Unfortunately, I just lost my dad recently. . . . I can tell you this - It was very important for my dad to know that we were watching out for him and making sure he was given the appropriate care. No one likes to admit that they are scared... we're so vulnerable in the hospital. Just repeat it every time you're there.

Continued thoughts and prayers for you, your dad and family, DQ.

Thanks for asking, Skittles...

He is still in ICU, I suppose that is good, because the nurses will watch him closely there.

The surgery seems to have helped his circulation quite a bit, but his BP keeps dropping, so they are trying to get that up a bit to improve the circulation to the leg. All in all, we are just very glad that we still have him with us.

It appears that he may lose a toe or two, but compared to what he was facing earlier in the week, we are very relieved.

I want to thank all of my BOL friends, you have been a great help to me.

DQ, My thoughts are still with you as well. I hope the blood pressure is regluated soon, and that the worst outcome is a couple of toes. Prayers coming your way from Wisconsin!!

Thanks, same as yesterday, which is a good thing. Still BP problems, I will get to see him tomorrow. He is too far away to see during the week, between work and the kid...

Don't forget. Your house can get dirty and you don't have to be a super person. Your son and Dad need you more than most of the other things you usually do. Let most of the chores go to spend time with them.

Wow, that is great news. Only seeing this post now, I don't usually look here, but something compelled me to it. Prayers for you and your family (your mom and dad especially) during this recovery process.
