I think Lucy will attest to this, "you can't have too much coffee".

My friends here in the Midwest always say "More is better." I think they mean beer, but it can be used for coffee. I'll have a large skim milk latte with ameretto flavoring please!!

I like a pot of coffee, brewed with a teaspoon of cinnamon mixed in.

Just give me a plain old cup of Diner coffee any day - sooooo good. In lieu of a greasy Diner, I will take White Hen or Dunkin' Donuts coffee - even Citgo! But I will always prefer the greasy diner.

I once overdosed on chocolate covered coffee beans. It was during my first year in banking, working in the diazo department (extra points if you know what the heck a diazo is). We bought 2lbs of the things and 5 of us gobbled them as we filed thousands of diazo's that were back logged. After about 3 hours it hit us all...we were moving at the speed of light for the next 3 hours, with nervous headaches and chattering like magpies...then we hit the backside of the coffee high...and all left work early to nap...for 2 days. NEVER again....(unless they're on sale of course)

Didn't you hear about Dunkin' Donuts Coffee. You may want to buy Krispy Kreme coffee to support the Windy City:
Livengood says Krispy Kreme's emphasis has been on its renowned doughnut, which account for 90 percent of its sales. At Dunkin' Donuts, however, coffee is the big moneymaker, accounting for 50 percent of its sales. Doughnuts bring in only 20 percent of its sales, says Kimmel. The rest comes from other breakfast foods, such as bagels, muffins and egg sandwiches.
The word on the street is that Krispy Kreme has better doughnuts, but Dunkin' Donuts has better coffee. It's true Dunkin' Donuts is fanatical about its beans, and is currently the No. 1 purveyor of fast-food coffee, though it runs neck-and-neck with Starbucks. "We're sort of a coffee company disguised as a doughnut company," says Rob Stephen, Dunkin's coffee product development manager.
Stephen, brought in three years ago to oversee the coffee side of the business, sits in a lab in a squat Braintree building and samples coffee, much as a vintner would sample wine. He pours several cups, sticks his nose down into each, slurps loudly from a spoon, sloshes it around on his tongue, then spits. He's looking for any deviation from the Dunkin' Donuts trademark taste.
Meanwhile, Krispy Kreme is intent on catching up. Three years ago, it bought out D.J. McKie, owner of a successful Chicago coffee roasting business, then brought him in to elevate Krispy Kreme coffee to the level of its legendary glazed doughnut. Since then, coffee consumption at Krispy Kreme is up 40 percent; last fall, the company introduced a signature roast coffee in four varieties.

Braintree, corporate headquarters and home of Dunkin Donuts University, (Yes! They actually have one!) is the next town over from me, so keep that Dunkin Donut coffee flowing! KK may have better donuts but DD coffee is addictive. I has to be. No matter where they open a shop it is an instant success. (Where did all those people drink coffee before?) There are 5 DD shops within 2 miles of my house and they just opened #6 inside the grocery store. I live in a suburban, almost rural area, not a city where you might expect to see multiple stores of the same company. KK just opened their first Massachusetts shop this week north of Boston. They did $73,000 in sales the first day. Company spokesman said that was their best opening day ever. Forget about getting a franchise though, word is they have sold out the US and are looking overseas.

Forgive me Krispy Kreme lovers, but I prefer Dunkin Donuts. My comparison: I love DD's bavarian creme filled donut. We used to call those bismarcks or in Polish, paczki (pronounced poonch-key). I bought one from KK and instead of rich, pudding like filling, it was stuffed with Twinkie cream! Not that I don't like Twinkies, but I was expecting something better. I was shocked, I tell you, shocked! :

Nanwa, they gave you the wrong donut. KK does make paczki. Next time, be sure to get the ones marked "Bavarian creme-filled."

Rob Stephen has my dream job! Dennys also makes a killer cup of coffee. Now that I live in the sticks, I am nowhere close to a DD or KK. One of my fondest memories is my big brother (he was 12 and I was 10 at the time) LETTING me help him throw this HUGE paper route at 5:30am, and then riding our bikes to DD where he would treat me to breakfast. I always loved these powdered sugar-covered-chocolate-cream-filled somethings...those were really the days!

Boston has one donut shop every three blocks (No really...we started counting!) I'm not suprised KK did well. What I hated was that the DD shops had NO air conditioning! It was 105 with heat indexes and the employees and clients were melting in line. I left two of them because they smelled like rancid milk...and since I was in line for a frozen coffee with milk....

Need...coffee... I will be running on caffiene today. Here's my day, so far: Man of My Life gets up at 4 AM to leave on weeklong fishing trip. Kisses Wife goodbye. 4:15 AM MOML drops coffee pot in kitchen. 4:30 AM Large furry creature uses Wife's head as springboard to reach bedroom window to watch bats returning from evening hunt. 5 AM MOML leaves as evidenced by slamming garage door. 5:15 AM Smaller furry creature inquires why I didn't go fishing with husband. 5:30 AM Two furry creatures decide the best place to wrestle is on Wife's pillow. 5:35 enough already! I'm up!
