Is there a maximum lending limit for loans where stock is being used as collateral? I thought I read somewhere that the maximum lending limit for a financial institution was 10% of its capital.

P.S. The stock being used as collateral is not from our own bank, but another institution and it is not for the purchase of the stock itself. The borrower is an individual.
