I have this friend (yes, this is really about a friend) that paid off an automobile loan in December. She obtained a loan on another automobile from the same lender, so the two transactions were handled as one. She has written to this lender several times because the original loan is still appearing on her credit report, but cannot get the company to respond. Does anyone know what the requirements are in the State of Florida for showing satisfaction of automobile loans? Also, isn't there requirements as far as the lender responding to her requests? Thanks.

If there is erroneous information on her credit bureau report, she should work through the credit bureau as she is unable to obtain satisfaction from the bank. Maybe she should direct her bank inquiries to a manager? Also I would ask if I could see her new loan documents. That may answer the question. Has she inquired at the bank to see if the loan is paid off?
