No one has "Unforgiven" on their list? I also liked "The Outlaw Jossie Whales", "Dirty Harry" and all of the sequels (I am a big Eastwood fan obviously). I would have to say "A christmas Story" would be on my list as well.

Unforgiven, Jossie Wales and a Christmas Story are 3 of my favorites. Watched both Unforgiven and Jossie Wales this past weekend. Did you like Pale Rider?

Pale Rider was good as well, really just about any western Clint has done is good. I also liked the movie Tombstone - even though it was "Clintless"!

Put me down for:
Silverado The Princess Bride Les Miserables (the Liam Neeson movie, although not as good as the musical, is quite profound)

Heh Heh No T...it's the right thread. Star Wars belongs just due to it's overwhelming success over years and years and years...the sequels and prequels keep coming, and they're always box office hits! George is amazing! I'd steal a pen from his desk anyday. Brigadoon! How can you question this one! Quote:

Gotta agree with Star Wars (at least the orginal 3). I like to be entertained at the movies, not disturbed. I don't mind being made to think, but I'd rather escape. That's why I like: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, Star Wars (the original), Rudy, Breaking Away, Rocky, the Rookie, Man From Snowy Mountain, etc....

An Affair to Remember American President I'm not really that old, but I like the older movies best for repeated viewing. Oh, and anything with Harrison Ford, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock, Wesley Snipes, Sean Connery or Richard Gere. (Forgive my spelling, I really do like them even if I can't spell them!!)

As a movie, it was not that good. The sets were phony and it was not like visiting the Scottish highlands. Instead, it's like attending a Broadway musical. It was an extremely good musical.
So, I'm taking it off the list of best all-around movies with my vote cancelling your vote - it's the American way.
Also, what's with the sleep obsession, e.g. sleepless, while you were sleeping - has that got something to do with Alaska? Those were really bad movies, but good chick flicks, I guess. But, Best All-Around?

What about Tremors? It's awful, kinda like watching a car wreck --- you know it's awful, but you gotta look anyway. Talk about cheesy acting Kevin Bacon, Reba McIntyre, ?? Gross. But I have fond memories of rainy Saturday afternoons, my kids groaning "it's on again!!" and then all of us watching like we never saw it before. Go figure.

Best made-for-TV movie: Barbarians at the Gate! If you haven't seen this, you ought to. WARNING: It is an HBO movie and has foul language. The scene about the smokeless cigarette is priceless!

I love the old classics, White Christmas It's a wonderful Life Just about anything and everything w/ Danny Kaye or Fred Astaire. All the old horrow classics Frankenstein and Dracula and the Wolfman Great epics like The Ten Commandments Ben Hur Gone with the Wind And let us not forget The Wizard of OZ It's hard to choose just one favorite movie. Even with all the special effects and computer technology of the newer more recent movies, I don';t think some of them can hold a candle to the older ones. I LOVE movies,
