Is there an exeption to giving provisional credit within 10 business days of a written notice? We've got a POS dispute and it appears we missed the 10 business day provisional credit and the 90 calendar day investigation limit.

The notice was given on 12/17/07 and provisional credit was given on 1/7/08. This appears to be 13 business days by my calculation. The final resolution was 3/17/08 which appears to be 91 calander days.

Did I calcualte these correctly or are there exceptions to the rule that I've not taken into consideration? Thanks for the help on this one.

I didn't pull out my calendar to double check your counting of business days. There is one exception to giving provisional credit by the 10th business day - if the customer will not provide the notice in writing.

I know David will set me straight if I miss this, but as I recall the provisional credit window is 5 days if it is related to a Visa POS transaction. Many of ours are so I thought I would mention.

We have 20 days for new customers (30 day window) and 10 for existing.
