What a wonderful, light-hearted way to spend a Saturday afternoon! This musical is hilariously funny and worth the price of admission. Sure, the main stars aren't professional singers, but it's clear they had a ball doing this. Meryl Streep is excellent, and she and her "gal pals" can do more on platform heels than I can ever do. It's a wonder they didn't break their ankles!

I was never a big ABBA fan, but I can't wait to get the sound track. Go see it!

Great! My best friend and I are planning on going. Do we need to leave her husband at home or will he enjoy it also?

I would think the husband would enjoy it a lot! Those "Disco Divas" are HOT (and are over 50!).

I can't wait to see it a 2nd time and laugh all over again!

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
a couple of my friends and I left kiddies with their husbands and saw this Saturday. It was too funny! One of Meryl's friends is the lady who plays mrs. Weasley on Harry Potter - I almost didn't recognize her!

My friends' husbands wouldn't be caught dead seeing that movie - so I guess it really depends on the guy. We throughly enjoyed our Mom's Saturday afternoon off.

I love Meryl Streep. But since I married a Swede, and my last name is Gay, I just can't bring myself to go....

I can't wait to see the movie. I saw the stage production and it was terrific! If the movie is half as good, it'll be dynamite!

I saw this film yesterday with my wife and daughter. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't half-bad. I liked how they cast people who are not singers, plus how can you go wrong with ABBA songs?

Doubt I'll even notice, kitten. I've been smitten with the man for too long to care if he sings off key or eats crackers in...well, you get my drift.

I have to say, I'm really surprised at how many of you liked it.
I went with a group of friends to a sold out show on Friday night, and people were walking out.

I couldn't stop laughing (but not for the right reasons, I'm afraid ). Pierce Brosnan should NEVER sing in public again.
NEVER EVER.

The only good part was the Abba music, and even that got a little old (I guess I don't like as many ABBA songs as I thought I did...).
Meryl Streep definitely did look like she was having fun, and the girl who played her daughter fit the part well, I guess...

MC - it got TERRIBLE reviews. and it will never win any awards. but it was fun, light, summer fluff. i think if people went in with the right attitude, they would have had fun.

pierce brosnan singing is the reason i did not get the soundtrack. once was enough. never ever sing again, pierce.

Well, I wouldn't call what he did singing, exactly. Randy and Paula would have said he "shouted" more than he sang.
