List of Regs Requiring Training

Answered by:

Question:
Please provide a comprehensive list of the regulations that have "required training" stated, within the regulation. Also, I am looking for a suggested/required training list that would be applicable to ALL bank staff: So far I have sexual harassment, workplace violence, privacy, robbery, CIP, and BSA.
Answer:

Mandatory Training
- BSA (12 CFR Section 21.21(c)(4) Provide training for appropriate personnel.)
- Bank Protection Act (12 CFR Section 21.3(a)(3) Provide initial & periodic training)
- Reg CC (12 CFR Section 229.19(f)provide each employee who performs duties subject to the requirements of this subpart with a statement of the procedures applicable to that employee)
- Customer Information Security (Pursuant to the Interagency Guidelines for Safeguarding Customer Information, training is required. Many banks allow for turnover and train as needed, imposing their own requirements on frequency.)

Your training program should relate to your needs, based on products, services, and risk ratings. There is no one size fits all equation. And remember that training will be best handled when it is function driven. So don't teach the board how to complete a CTR and don't teach a teller about abstentions for loan decisions.
