LLC Accounts: SSN or TIN?

Question: 
When we open an LLC account for customers, can we use the customers social security number instead of a TIN?
Answer: 

In general, if the LLC is a single-member LLC, you may use that person's SSN. Otherwise, the LLC must obtain an EIN.
