Outdoor Cameras

Question:
Should we have cameras outdoors that cover our ATMs, parking areas, and walkways?
Answer:

Answer by Andy Zavoina:It never hurts. Employees and customers may benefit from this security. They should absolutely be at ATMs. We had cameras in the ATM that captured the user and those standing nearby; another was overhead looking at the back of cars at the drive-up ATMs, and in some cases we could see the passenger side of the car as well. We used them all in Reg E claims. Of all your cameras, these may be the ones that pay for themselves.

Answer by Dana Turner:Target and Walmart stores (hospitals, too) have set the standard for exterior surveillance. If you can get one of their security managers to meet with you, those managers may be willing to share this part of the store's security model with you, and maybe even save you some bad-decision money.
