Promoting overdraft opt-in

Answered by:

Question:
Do you see a problem with marketing and/or encouraging our customers to “opt-in” for overdraft protection?
Answer:

Yes, while not specifically forbidden, I see a potentially huge problem here. It is an easy leap to see that encouraging the use of an overdraft program could be considered as “lining the pockets of the greedy banker” at the expense of the consumer.
