Answer:
Examples of the requirements necessary to pull a credit report include: (i) after receiving a written request from the consumer; (ii) in response to a court order; or, (iii) when a person reasonably believes the credit is intended to be used in connection with a credit transaction. The latter is typical for a loan application. These are the common day-to-day reasons but there others involving employees and those applying for a job. The reasons are detailed in FCRA Sect. 604.
